American banking holding Morgan Stanley announced the creation of a global group, Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures, which will support 29 startups with financing. Among them is the Ukrainian S.Lab, which created a biodegradable packaging technology from plant components.
It is noted that Morgan Stanley will invest $250,000 (£250,000 in EMEA) in each startup.
«We are proud to support this global group of changemakers who are delivering scalable solutions to a range of pressing business and societal challenges,» said Jessica Alsford, Morgan Stanley’s Chief Sustainability Officer.
The startups that will receive funding from Morgan Stanley in 2025 offer technology and AI solutions in sectors such as healthcare, transportation, manufacturing and accounting. In addition, many of them are working on sustainability issues such as reducing waste, extreme weather conditions and emissions. After a five-month accelerator program, these startups will present their projects at a global exhibition and demo day in February 2026.
Among the startups that received funding from Morgan Stanley is the Ukrainian S.Lab. The CEO and co-founder of the startup, Yulia Bialetska, told Forbes Ukraine that the funds raised will go towards scaling up production and developing modular factories — container production lines. One such line can produce up to 15,000 packaging units per month.
Bialecka said that S.Lab wants to move to a new business model where customers will receive eco-packaging production technology, not a finished product. The startup is currently looking to scale its production facilities in Spain.
Previously, dev.ua learned from Yulia Bialetska about investments, the launch of the technology line, and the global expansion of S.Lab.
