In the first four months of 2026, non-resident companies providing electronic services in Ukraine transferred more than UAH 6.9 billion in VAT to the state budget. The amount of revenues increased by UAH 1.5 billion compared to the same period last year.
This was reported by the Acting Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, Lesya Karnaukh, on her Facebook page.
In currency equivalent, the amount of taxes paid is $97.6 million or 52 million euros. The list of the largest payers includes Apple, Google, Meta, Netflix, Sony, Valve, Etsy, Epic Games and Wargaming. These are taxes on income from advertising, streaming services, online games, mobile applications and marketplaces.
«Equal rules for all market participants is something we are actively implementing. Regardless of whether it is a local company or a global corporation,» Lesya Karnaukh noted.
The number of international companies officially paying the «Google tax» continues to grow. Since the beginning of 2026, nine more non-residents have received VAT payer status in Ukraine. In total, 154 foreign companies have already had such registration.
According to the legislation, VAT registration is mandatory for foreign companies if the volume of their electronic services for Ukrainian users exceeded UAH 1 million in the last 12 months. The tax was introduced to equalize the operating conditions of foreign technology corporations and local businesses.
