As reported by 80 Level, Wilson said the company is investing in new workflows and capabilities to integrate AI across its teams, aiming to «improve how we create, scale, and personalize experiences, from dynamic game worlds to delivering authentic athlete and team likenesses at incredible scale».
He added that developers are using AI to «expand the boundaries of what’s possible in design, animation, and storytelling,» which ultimately allows EA to create «deeper and more immersive gameplay».
Wilson’s statement comes after recent layoffs of an estimated 300-400 employees, including at Respawn Entertainment, the developers of Titanfall and Apex Legends, and the cancellation of a new game in the Titanfall series.
«We know the path ahead may bring short-term economic uncertainty, but our focus, adaptability and strategic clarity give us the tools to thrive. This is a significant moment for our company, and we have never been more optimistic about what lies ahead,» Wilson concluded.
He also confirmed that EA has no plans to raise the prices of its games, even as companies like Microsoft and Nintendo have started to raise their prices to $80. According to Wilson, the company is focused on «providing incredible quality and exponential value for our players,» such as the hit co-op adventure Split Fiction, which has already sold 4 million copies.
