In Ukraine, they are looking for a powerful vibe coder with a salary of up to $12,000, who will be 5-10 times faster than a developer. What do IT professionals think about this "fabulous" vacancy?

A vacancy for a web coder (FullStack) was posted on Djinni, which aroused lively interest in the LinkedIn IT community.

What is known about the vacancy?

On April 17, a FullStack (Vibe Coder) vacancy appeared on Djinni from the US corporate startup Clevervol, which is owned by the Ukrainian media agency Deadline . At least, that's what the vacancy description says.

Remote work in Ukraine with a monthly salary of $8,000-$12,000. Looking for a specialist with experience "exclusively" from one year. Requires knowledge of Ukrainian. There is a test task.

“We tripled (ARR) with clients from Ukraine and are on track to dominate the US. Now 50% of our code is written by AI, so we have a small team of entrepreneurs without programming skills. Working 12-15 hours a day, we have done a lot to launch the product. Now we are looking for a powerful vibe coder (not viber!). Experience, seniority, education - do not matter! We will consider any candidate!”, - says the description of the vacancy.

The requirements for candidates are as follows:

  1. Be stress-resistant with code from AI agents and patiently fix startup deliverables in the shortest possible time.
  2. The feature release rate should be 5 or 10 times higher than that of classic developers.
  3. Must be fully autonomous and able to solve any technical task using AI. Example - pass the moderation of the application publication by updating the license policy!
  4. Completely autonomously solve business problems, not create them!

They also indicated some requirements that would be a bonus:

  • At least 50% of the code you write right now should be written by AI.
  • The experience of the vibe coder is confirmed by a certificate.
  • There is armor/protection/etc.

You need to take a test before the interview (1-2 hours):

  • The task is to implement a feature in an open source repository using AI. The repository is chosen by the candidate himself. The code is not provided - only a description of the feature!
  • The test task can be published and referenced anywhere.
  • No need to sign any NDAs. No need to share any data.

They also noted: "Without completing the test task, we do not consider the resume and do not begin the interview process. The completion of the test task is paid only after concluding a contract (2 hours at the rate).

What do IT professionals think about this vacancy?

This vacancy was shared on LinkedIn by IT professional Arseniy Hoffmann. In the comments under his post, IT professionals shared their thoughts on this opportunity — to earn $12,000 in Ukraine while working remotely.

“Each team member will get a share…” but do you need to send them 500 bucks to prove the seriousness of your intentions as a future employee?”, suggested Senior Frontend Developer Ruslan Kolibabchuk.

"Divorce" on the test task

"This is a scam, don't believe them. Most likely, it's a test assignment. If the vacancy requires knowledge of Ukrainian, then it's a scam from Ukraine. Our product offices won't pay such a salary even for a year," says AI/ML Data Scientist Engineer Vasyl Savka.

“Something tells me that the test is individual for each candidate,” suggested Backend Engineer Mykola Nosov.

"I saw information somewhere that a new type of scam has appeared under the guise of a test one. You deploy their project on your computer, and the program gains access to all your accounts and wallets. It could very well be that this is it, be careful," added Oksana L.

Artur Shevchenko, an IT professional from Yalantis, told about a new fraudulent scheme with test tasks. This method is also popular with North Korean hackers: they hide malicious software in GitHub projects, which are then sent to developers under the guise of a test .

Scam on "human greed"

Junior Java Developer\Fullstack Yevgeny Popadiuk received a test from the startup : "To put it briefly, it smells like a wild scam based on human greed to me."

"Here, even without a test, judging by the description, it is clear that these guys are still those **bought storytellers))) to create some super unicorn projects without any experience exclusively using AI, spending 14-15 hours and still having a profit - you have to be the magical Roger Rabbit in the plot of the film The Matrix," noted IT expert Oleksiy Bogdanov.

"People with real programming experience will get rich in three years of such vibe coding)) This is some kind of joke) But in any form it looks pretty funny, how a team of non-technical vibe coders is stuck and cannot fix their own bugs with the help of AI, and is looking for the same non-technical developer who should fix it with the help of AI, who in fact cannot fix his own code. In the hope that this guy will write some kind of magic prompt that will still enlighten AI to fix the unfixed)) Or they just want to fix their problems with the help of test people," wrote Senior/Lead Android Engineer Serhiy Radkivsky.

“It should be added: the NDA is sent after transmitting the card number, expiration date, and gray code,” joked Denys Fedorenko.

Instead of a conclusion

It seems that developers are not very keen on this vacancy. At the time of publication, it had 116 views and 9 reviews.

Vibe coding is becoming increasingly popular in IT . This method is attracting attention because it can potentially lower the barrier to entry into the field of software development.

Some software engineers believe that vibe coding will not harm the Software Engineering profession, but rather the opposite - it can become a useful technique.

Recently, Ukrainian IT professionals discussed the topic of vibe coding in Threads. “It’s not just a time saver, but a complete change in the approach to development,” says Oleksiy Malygin, AI & Chatbot Expert.
