Amazon has introduced an updated version of its smart assistant: what can Alexa+ do now based on AI

Reads, summarizes, and reproduces large documents

During the demonstration, Amazon showed how users can share documents using Alexa+, allowing her to recall important details and answer questions about those documents, TechCrunch reports.

Here are some examples of how the new feature works:

• Alexa+ can find the necessary information from a recipe that has been loaded previously. For example, how much oil is needed to bake bread according to grandma’s recipe;
• in a more complex scenario, a user can download a document from the condominium association and ask questions about rules that many people do not pay attention to;
• Users can also forward multiple emails from their child’s school to Alexa+, extracting and summarizing important information. It can also help manage their calendars so they don’t miss important school events.

Works with Prime Video and Fire TV: can skip to different scenes in a movie

Thanks to the integration between Alexa+, Prime Video, and Fire TV, the assistant can «jump to a scene» in a movie without having to fast-forward the video.

The company demonstrated the new feature by asking about a movie where Bradley Cooper sang a song. When Alexa+ responded that it was the movie A Star is Born, the user could ask Alexa+ to skip to the scene in the movie where he sings.

You can also direct Alexa+ to a specific scene using details like an actor or character name or a quote.

Additionally, Alexa+ device owners will be able to ask the assistant about a song they heard during the credits of a TV show, even if they don’t know the song title or artist.

Smart home device control, allowing users to move music between speakers in different rooms

Other updates include the ability for Alexa+ to work with other smart home devices, including tools for moving music between rooms, summaries of events in the home, such as whether the trash has been taken out, and other features for multi-step voice automation of routine tasks around the home.
