The Ukrainian educational foundation Apex Talent Foundation has launched Apex Minds, the largest open Ukrainian-language database of mathematics Olympiad problems. The project's goal is to completely replace Russian-language counterparts and free Ukrainian mathematics education from dependence on the digital infrastructure of the aggressor state.
The Apex Minds platform has become part of the ecosystem for finding and developing young STEM talents within the foundation's activities, complementing the Apex XY educational program and other regional initiatives.
What Apex Minds offers
At launch, the archive contains 21,566 tasks from 58 competitions spanning the period from 1970 to 2025.
The database includes over 11,000 tasks from printed Ukrainian collections, as well as over 10,000 translations from international Olympiads, including IMO and EGMO.
All materials have been digitized with the permission of the copyright holders based on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology dataset (MathNet, Apache 2.0).
Access to the platform is completely free and does not require mandatory registration.
According to the organizers, over the years, schoolchildren's training has relied mostly on Russian-language resources like problems.ru, as there was no coherent Ukrainian-language database, and Ukrainian materials remained scattered. The main goal of Apex Minds is to equalize educational opportunities between the capital and the regions.
"Every talented child in Ukraine deserves the best tasks in their native language. Apex Minds collects Olympiad mathematics in one open space so that a teacher in any region has access to the same resources as a leading metropolitan school," emphasized Ulyana Avtonomova, founder of the Apex Talent Foundation.
"Creating a centralized Ukrainian-language platform is not only a matter of practical convenience, but also of protecting the country's educational sovereignty. Today, the main customer of talented and capable students in the country is the scientific community and technology companies," added Olga Budnyk, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on the Fund of the President of Ukraine for Support of Education, Science and Sports.
