Notepad in Windows 11 gets AI assistant for creating text resumes

The new feature allows users to quickly get a summary of large texts without having to manually analyze them. Powered by Microsoft Copilot, the feature will help users work more efficiently with notes, documents, or any other text data.

Windows users can select text, right-click, and select Summarize, or use the Ctrl+M shortcut or the Copilot menu. The feature allows you to customize the length of the summarized text and requires you to be signed in to a Microsoft account. Additionally, Notepad now supports viewing recently closed files.

The update has already begun rolling out to Windows Insider testers, and its public release is expected in upcoming versions of Windows 11. This is another step by Microsoft towards deeper integration of artificial intelligence into the everyday use of the operating system.

Microsoft notes that the new feature is part of the company's broader strategy to introduce AI into standard Windows applications.
