Bolt launches Women for Women taxi service. How it works
Bolt has added a new service to its rides. The app has a Women for Women category, where women can order a taxi with a female driver.
Bolt has added a new service to its rides. The app has a Women for Women category, where women can order a taxi with a female driver.
Bolt is committed to the safety of female passengers and drivers, and by selecting it in the app, women will be able to book rides from female drivers, creating a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. The additional category will also expand economic opportunities for women who want to join the Bolt driver community.
«We understand that women may experience certain barriers when using transportation services or considering driving as a career opportunity,» notes Yulia Malich, Senior Public Policy Manager for Ukraine and Asia at Bolt.
The option will currently be available in Kyiv, the company’s press service reports. However, they add that the service will later become available in other cities.
For the safety of Women for Women users, Bolt is introducing an additional passenger screening step:
- When selecting a category, the user will be required to upload an official identification document.
- The document will be verified against your Bolt account, including your name, date of birth, and photo.
- To complete the verification, the user must take a selfie to confirm that the person matches the provided document.
- After successful verification, the passenger will be able to confirm the order and wait for the car at the designated location.
