The Revol Bosch smart crib was created to help parents care for newborn babies. The crib can monitor the baby’s vital signs, such as heart rate and breathing rate.
At CES 2025, the Bosch smart crib won the CES Innovation Award.
In addition, using computer vision, the program reacts if a soft toy or blanket is blocking the child’s airways or if crying is detected, and signals this to parents.
The bed can start to rock gently on its own if the child cannot fall asleep. The Revol movements in this case are vertical and are activated automatically, while the mattress slowly rises and falls.
The built-in baby monitor, thanks to a series of sensors mounted inside the bracket above the crib, provides live video for caregivers and also monitors the environment around and inside the crib, reports Engadget.
The information read by the sensors is sent by the program to the phone of the parent or caregiver. Through the smartphone, you can view statistics in real time or monitor the health of the baby. In addition, the sensors monitor temperature, humidity and air quality. All collected data can be stored in encrypted form on Bosch servers, or remain offline with the owners.
The crib may not be available to users in the US until 2026, due to procedures required to comply with US laws and regulations, a Bosch representative told Engadget at CES 2025. Bosch initially plans to launch the crib in China.
The final price for the device is also not yet known, but Bosch told Engadget that they expect to price the bassinet at around $1,200. In addition, the company plans to offer additional add-ons for the crib that can turn the crib into a changing table and desk, so that parents and children can get more out of it.
