Ukrainian-Canadian indie team The Future Entertainment Company has released a demo and a new trailer for its upcoming top-down roguelite shooter called DDoD. Prior to this release, the project was in a closed beta testing phase for seven months, in which almost 50,000 players participated.

The developers announced the release of the demo in their official announcement. The authors describe DDoD as a mixture of Diablo gameplay with firearms and the atmosphere of the STALKER universe. The game takes place in the Purple Lands, a closed industrial region that has fallen under the influence of an anomalous Fog.

The demo is designed to take approximately two hours to complete. Players can play both solo and co-op with up to four players. The demo includes two underground locations and a 60 square kilometer open world based on real-world topography. Users can complete the main and side quests, try out about ten weapons (from knives and bats to sniper rifles and mine-stretchers), and encounter various types of mutants and enemy factions.

The Future Entertainment Company founder and game director Vitaliy Boyko emphasized the importance of feedback during development.

"We are building this game with the players, not just for them. We are players ourselves, so we pay close attention to all the feedback we receive. We came to many of our most important decisions because of what we saw in the playtests," Boyko noted.

The team conducted 11 rounds of closed beta testing from October 2025 to May 2026. Thanks to community feedback, the developers refined the dynamics of gunfights, enemy behavior, updated the crafting system, and rebalanced equipment drops. The game also implemented dynamic weather and a full day-night cycle.

The Future Entertainment Company is an indie team of about 15 professionals working in Ukraine, Europe, and Canada. DDoD is scheduled to be released in early access on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) in late 2026. The game is expected to be released on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in 2027.
