A Ukrainian indie development team has released a free demo of the sci-fi adventure game White Whisper on Steam. The first-person game invites you to explore an abandoned spaceship and solve the mystery of its crew’s disappearance.
The developers announced the release of the demo and Ukrainian voice acting in the Reddit community.
According to the plot, the player takes on the role of a researcher who wakes up from cryosleep and sets off in search of the scientific vessel «Sentinel». The ship sent a distress signal, after which it completely disappeared from the air. The only companion of the main character during the exploration of silent decks and abandoned terminals becomes the onboard artificial intelligence.
White Whisper’s gameplay combines exploration of locations, solving logic puzzles, deciphering codes, and searching for crew emails. One of the key mechanics of the game is movement in zero gravity, where players have to navigate in three-dimensional space without the usual landmarks of up and down.
The developers note that the project is focused on plot progression and a gradual build-up of atmosphere. The demo version already has full Ukrainian dubbing.
«It was important for us that Ukrainian players could play the game comfortably, so the demo version has full Ukrainian localization,» the development team notes.
They encourage players to share feedback and add White Whisper to their Steam wishlist to support further development.
