As the State Statistics Service reports on its Facebook page, by type of economic activity, the «information and telecommunications» industry has the highest level of wages in Ukraine.
Thus, if we compare the figures, the salary of IT workers is 2.8 times higher than the usual average salary in Ukraine.
It is also worth adding that while IT and telecom have the highest average salary in the country, the lowest is in the field of arts, sports, entertainment and recreation — only UAH 18,681.
By region, the highest average salary as of February this year was in Kyiv (45,651 UAH) and Kyiv region (29,077 UAH), and the lowest was in Kirovohrad region (20,083 UAH).
The State Statistics Service recalled that compared to January 2026, the average salary in the country increased by 1,2%.
As dev.ua wrote, analyzing research on the IT labor market, the stack is no longer an argument, the level of happiness at work is falling, and the gap between the desired and actual salaries of employees is reaching a critical level.
At the same time, the number of reserved employees in IT has increased: in Kyiv, there are already 21% of them, and in the market as a whole, there are 17%.
