"We make separate teams. In the current conditions, for each client that has 2-3 teams in Ukraine, it is necessary to have 1-2 - in Europe or India to balance the risks. They pick up the releases of applications or platforms, are responsible for its support, because there is a stable situation with the Internet and electricity. Then clients feel protected," said Nuzhny in an interview with Forbes.
According to the head of Ciklum, 78% of the company's specialists can work for 10 or more hours without electricity, and the rest live close to the offices.
"There are clients for whom it is enough to have 10% of the team abroad. Others — 50%. Large banks generally cannot bring projects to Ukraine during the war due to internal restrictions. There are no such projects left in Ukrainian IT — they have all come out," Nuzhny said.
As for bookings, according to Vitaly Nuzhny, about 20 specialists are booked in the company.
"It's not enough. There are about 200-250 critical people. Each such person holds 5-10 jobs. They need to be booked, otherwise the projects will end and the market will shrink," shared the top manager.
At the same time, Vitaly Nuzhnyi said that in the current conditions, AI has recently turned from "hype" into one of the working technologies used to optimize efforts.
"Every backend developer should know frameworks for working with AI. We launched a program to improve the skills of our specialists, where 200-300 people are regularly trained. Every company should train its employees in artificial intelligence. Not only developers, but also analysts, business developers, etc.," he noted.
