Elon Musk's DOGE sniffed out 14 computers with "magic money" in US government agencies

Billionaire and senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, said his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has discovered «magic money computers» in several government agencies that can «make money out of thin air».

Musk made the announcement during a conversation with Senator Ted Cruz on the Verdict podcast, according to Yahoo Finance. According to him, the DOGE team has discovered 14 «magic money computers» that are authorized to write checks.

«I call a 'magic money computer' any computer that can simply create money out of thin air,» said Elon Musk.

He claims that these computers exist in several federal agencies, such as the Treasury Department, the Department of Health and Human Services, the State Department, and the Department of Defense.

Musk said that these computers «just send money out of thin air,» but noted that they «are not completely wrong» in reporting government spending. In some cases, he said, they are «probably 10% wrong».

Musk’s comments raised concerns about the role of government in managing money. Cryptocurrency advocates were quick to respond, with crypto enthusiast and Casa co-founder Jameson Lopp claiming Bitcoin’s ability to solve this problem.

Recall that in early March, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. Despite the positive expectations of the crypto community from this decision, this statement failed to ensure Bitcoin growth, and led to its fall from $90,000 to approximately $84,600.

Loud and strange statements from Elon Musk have long ceased to be surprising. Earlier, Mark Kelly, a Democratic senator from Arizona, a former US Navy combat pilot with 25 years of experience and an astronaut who was the commander of the space shuttle, visited Ukraine for the third time and called for its support. For some reason, this did not please billionaire Elon Musk, who called Kelly a «traitor».
