«I recently had interviews at EPAM. There were four interviews in total, which, as I understand it, I passed successfully. And it was time for the last one, communication with the project manager,» the specialist said, specifying that he planned to work in the Ukrainian EPAM team.
According to the IT worker, the manager offered to communicate in Russian or English. «I chose English and answered all his questions quite extensively. At the end, he told me that there were Russian-speaking people from Belarus and Georgia on the project, and they communicated in Russian. To which I asked if I needed to speak Russian, because I speak English well, and, as I understand it, English is currently the main language of communication in IT. He answered vaguely, that there is a common goal, etc.,» shared Dmitry.
Later, the recruiter informed the IT worker that the vacancy had been closed.

UPD (March 10, 9:00). EPAM commented on the situation as follows: «After several rounds of interviews, we closed the vacancy by selecting an internal candidate who could start work as soon as possible without a notice period. We would like to emphasize that the reason for this decision was in no way the issue of language of communication, since English is the official working language in our company.»
