Epicenter is testing electronic price tags that automatically change prices on shelves. How does it work?

Epicenter began testing electronic price tags, on which the cost of the product can change automatically, immediately after the price is updated in the company's ERP system.
This is reported by Epicenter.
The first to receive electronic price tags was Epicenter Express in Sofiivska Borshchagovka. Later, the pilot was expanded to include some of the products in the metropolitan shopping center Epicenter at Berkovetska, 6-V. If the experiment proves to be economically profitable, the technology can be scaled up to other stores in the chain.
So an employee can change the price of a product in ERP. Then the new price will automatically appear on the electronic price tag on the shelf. This can be useful primarily for products whose prices change frequently - food, household chemicals, appliances and electronics.
For the experiment, Epicenter created its own system with a modular architecture. According to the company's plan, it can be connected to equipment from different manufacturers without restructuring the store's internal processes. The system has already been connected to data collection terminals, mobile applications, and desktop ERP used by sellers.
The company explains that one of the goals of the experiment is to reduce the time employees spend printing and manually replacing paper price tags. It should also reduce the number of cases where one price is listed on the shelf and another in the system.
The pilot will last about six months. Epicenter wants to test how much time and money the system saves, as well as how it works during peak periods, when the network launches many promotions and prices change more often.
Epicenter is currently testing the SOLUM system with SystemGroup. The company is also considering solutions from Soarfree, Zkong, and Vusion.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that Epicenter launched an AI assistant that is integrated with the company's internal systems and automates part of the contact center's work.
