The incident was reported by The Verge. According to Reddit users, the total volume of stolen files exceeds 150 GB. Although the platform’s legal department quickly deleted the first posts with links, bypassing online checks for the game has already become widespread.
Early access to the pirated version has already caused problems for some users. Content creator DVS Squad posted a video of Forza Horizon 6 gameplay without hiding his account name. He soon received a message from the Forza Community team that his account had been banned for 69,895,509 hours — until December 31, 9999.

«We are aware of reports that a version of Forza Horizon 6 has been leaked to players prior to its official release, and we can confirm that this is not related to a pre-load issue,» the developers said.
According to SteamDB, the Forza Horizon 6 leak most likely came from someone who had early access to the build (like a journalist or game reviewer or similar).
«Around the same time, a list of files appeared on SteamDB because someone (possibly another person) used our tool to upload tokens. SteamDB does not display or distribute keys, nor does it provide a download option,» the service noted.
Playground Games also confirmed that they are taking strict action against people who have accessed the leaked version, including blocking accounts and consoles. The developers urged fans to wait patiently for the game’s official release.
Microsoft traditionally reacts harshly to such cases. Back in 2009, the company carried out massive «ban waves» for console modifications, and later permanently blocked the perpetrators of the Gears of War Remake leak from Xbox online services.
Forza Horizon 6 is set to officially launch on Xbox Series S/X and PC on May 19, 2026. Playground Games recently released a detailed preview of the game, detailing the scale of the Japanese map, vehicle types, and Tokyo nighttime rendering. The game will feature over 550 cars at launch, with a PS5 version expected later this year.
