Fozzy Group, a trade and industrial group, will merge the Maudau marketplace and the Silpo E-commerce and Ecosystem division into a single structure starting November 20. The new division will have shared management and resources.
Maudau and Silpo online services will continue to operate under their usual names for consumers, but the reorganization will be accompanied by a reduction in some employees who have already been personally informed, although the exact number of positions in Fozzy Group is not disclosed, Forbes Ukraine reports .
In order not to disrupt the services during seasonal high demand, the merger will take place in stages: Silpo delivery and the Maudau marketplace will operate as usual, and partnership agreements will remain in effect. The integration of the marketplace is directly ensured by Maudau CEO Artem Dombrovsky.
Fozzy Group explains the merger by the need to adapt online trading to wartime conditions and increase the efficiency of using existing shared technologies and resources.
The decision was significantly influenced by significant losses from hostile attacks in 2026. From August 1 to September 25 alone, more than 20 of the retailer's facilities were damaged or destroyed. As a result of the destruction of ten distribution centers in August, the company lost inventory and was forced to restructure its logistics chains, which led to increased costs.
This forced the holding to resort to a series of optimizations: first, on August 25, layoffs were announced at Maudau, and later in the IT divisions of Temabit and E-commerce & Ecosystem Silpo. Subsequently, starting from November 1, the next wave of layoffs covered the office teams of the holding itself, the Silpo retail chain, and the logistics division.
This is not the first experience of combining the group's digital projects: at the end of 2025, Fozzy Group already merged the online children's goods store Pampik with the Maudau marketplace in order to find a more sustainable financial model.
