Google co-founder Serg Brin spoke about how much employees need to (and don’t need to) work so that the company can achieve a breakthrough in the field of AI.
«I recommend being in the office at least every weekday,» Serg Brin said in a memo to employees on Wednesday, February 26, according to The New York Times. In addition, the Google co-founder told specialists working on Gemini, Google’s line of AI models and programs, that «60 hours a week is the sweet spot for productivity.»

He condemned professionals who work less than 60 hours a week. «This last group is not only unproductive, but it can be very demoralizing for everyone else,» the Google co-founder explained.
However, Serg Brin separately warned employees against burnout, saying that working more than 60 hours a week can lead to this.
Similar conversations by Serg Brin took place against the backdrop of a race between tech giants to develop AGI. The Google co-founder believes that this goal can be achieved.
«I think we have all the ingredients to win this race, but we will have to step up our efforts,» he added.
