The company said that all attempts by Russian users to purchase paid apps, make in-app purchases, or renew subscriptions through Google Play will be rejected, Russian media reported, citing a document published by the Russian portal Habr.

“We will reject all attempts by users to purchase your paid apps, make in-app purchases (including new subscriptions), and renew subscriptions through Google Play Payments,” the letter states. The decision will take effect at 12:00 AM Pacific Time on December 26. The remaining balance will be paid by January 15.
This is not the first restriction by Google regarding Russian developers and users. Among the recent ones this year: in October, Google began removing Rutube from its application marketplace. Since September, the company does not allow creating a new account with a Russian phone number. In August, Google deactivated all AdSense accounts for users from Russia.
Recall that in October, a Russian court fined Google 2 undecillion rubles . According to experts, this demonstrates the desire of the Russian Federation to assert itself , but in reality it has little opportunity to influence Western companies.
