The plans for a simultaneous release were reported by the profile blogger STALKER 2 News with a link to correspondence with the official STALKER support service. According to the published data, Patch 2.0 and the Cost of Hope add-on will be released simultaneously or with a minimal time gap between releases.
Support representatives also noted that version 2.0 is the only major patch planned for the summer of 2026. At the same time, there is a possibility that the technical update will be released a little earlier than the DLC itself. This is necessary so that the developers have time to fix any unforeseen technical problems before the release of the story content. An important part of Patch 2.0 will be the update of the game engine Unreal Engine 5 from version 5.1 to version 5.5.4.

The new trailer for the expansion reveals in more detail the storyline of the upcoming DLC, which will focus on the confrontation between the factions «Debt» and «Volya». The main character Skif will find himself in the middle of this conflict, and his choices will directly affect the development of events. Gameplay footage shows both familiar and new characters — veteran Zulus and representative of «Volya» Mavka, as well as new territories around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the Iron Forest and Lymansk. The trailer demonstrates an interesting plot twist — an unexpected alliance of representatives of «Debt» and «Volya», who do not fight each other, but act together.
The first announcement of the story expansion «The Price of Hope» took place in March of this year as part of the spring Xbox Partner Preview presentation. The DLC is scheduled for release in summer 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
