Over the 3 years of the Russian invasion, the number of employees in the 50 largest IT companies in Ukraine has decreased by 20,000
A DOU study shows that the total number of IT professionals in the largest IT companies in Ukraine decreased by 20,000 specialists during the Russian full-scale invasion. Some companies lost from a third to a half of their staff.

The DOU material notes that in 2022, 7,000 IT workers lost their jobs, and in 2023, 10,700. Last year, the outflow of personnel decreased and amounted to 2,400 specialists.
Out of 49 companies, 36 have seen a decrease in the number of specialists over the past three years, while 13 have seen an increase.

EPAM Ukraine — -4,290 employees as of January 2022; as of January 2025, the company employs 9,570 specialists.
SoftServe — -3803 employees; now 7,279 specialists.
NIX — -1803 employees; now 1,890 specialists.
GlobalLogiс — -1669 employees; now 5,660 specialists.
Ciklum — -1199 employees; now 2,050 specialists.
Evoplау — -979 employees; now 2,613 specialists.
Grid Dynamics Group — -949 employees; now 700 specialists.
DataArt — -828 employees; now 2,172 specialists.
Luxoft — -800 employees; now 3,200 specialists.
Playriх — -680 employees; now 920 specialists.
It is noted that in three years the Ukrainian team of NIX and Grid Dynamics Group (about which approximate data is known) has decreased by half.
EPAM’s Ukrainian team, which had 13,860 employees in January 2022, has shrunk by more than 4,000 specialists in three years. SoftServe also saw a significant reduction — by 3,800. Before the full-scale invasion, the company employed 11,086 IT professionals.
However, there were also companies that managed to increase their staff despite Russian aggression. Ajax Systems has grown the most since January 2022 — by over 2,000 IT workers. The Genesis team also grew by 1,191 specialists.

Netpeak Group — +374 employees; now 1,109 specialists.
ZONE3000 — +185 employees; now 2,442 specialists.
ALLSTARSIT — +135 employees; now 991 specialists.
Playtech — +103 employees; now 790 specialists.
Intecracy Group — +102 employees; now 872 specialists.
Earlier, the Gamedev DOU publication published a study on the largest gaming companies operating in Ukraine. It noted that the GSC Game World studio was one of the few large companies that increased the number of employees over the past 6 months.
