A Ukrainian IT couple, Stas and Kateryna Lyakhovets, released the MÖRK application, designed to record utility indicators and expenses.
“Every 1st, it’s the same ritual. Find an old message to the owner in the chat, rewrite the figures, calculate on a calculator. And check if you haven’t lost a zero. And if you also rent to your parents, the ritual is double. That’s why we created MÖRK. It reminds you when to take the figures, calculates the amount according to the tariffs, and generates a ready-made message for the owner. You send it to any messenger with one touch,” wrote Stas Lyakhovets on the social network Threads.
From the IT worker’s message, it is clear that this application is relevant for tenants.
The iOS version of the application has already been published on the AppStore, and the Android version, as the IT expert reported, is in development.
Among the advantages of the application, the developers mention the following conveniences:
indicators, tariffs, additional payments and the total amount in one place;
the application itself collects the text with the indicators, consumed and the amount, and displays it as it will appear in the chat, so the landlord receives a calculation instead of a bare photo of the meter;
if the new indicator is lower than the previous one or the consumption is sharply different from the usual, the application warns about this before saving;
the new tariff applies from the date it comes into force, and old periods continue to be calculated according to the old one, so there is no need to recalculate anything;
multi-zone meters are entered as one device with multiple digits, and garbage, condominium, internet, and other fixed payments are added to the same amount;
You can attach a screenshot of the scoreboard to each entry, so if a question arises about a specific month in six months, there’s something to look at — for both parties.
As noted on the developers' website, the MÖRK application has its own useful advantages not only for tenants, but also for landlords.
“Are you renting out an apartment, house, or premises? At the end of the month, the indicators come in fragments to different chats, and you have to put them together. Here, all your objects are on one screen: the amount for the period, who has already submitted indicators and who has not yet. An apartment, house, room, or office are managed the same way. The amount for the period is calculated for all of them at once. Objects without indicators are at the top of the list — you don’t have to scroll through chats and remember who you are still waiting from,” the positives of using the application for landlords are listed.
The application contains a free and paid version depending on the terms of use.
