According to Kitsmey, the IT industry is currently experiencing «turbulent times,» and the classic software development model is rapidly changing under the influence of AI.
«AI will independently manage most stages of product development. Some roles will lose relevance, while others will become critically important,» he said.
Kitsmey cited a survey of 300 technology executives by SoftServe and MIT Technology Review, which found that the IT job market will undergo significant transformation over the next two years.
He believes that programmers of the future will not so much write code as work with domain expertise, formulate tasks for AI, and manage multi-agent systems.
«Programmers of the future will become deep experts in applied fields, manage multi-agent systems, formulate tasks for artificial intelligence, and create precise specifications for AI,» explained the SoftServe co-founder.
Separately, he suggested that programming languages in the future will be studied more to understand the principles of how systems work, rather than for daily practice.
«Programming languages will be studied not so much for practical use as for understanding the principles of their work — similar to how physics is studied,» Kitsmey said.
In his opinion, the role of the engineer is shifting from directly writing code to quality control, context checking, and assessing the reliability of the results generated by AI.
