Mobile operator lifecell continues to modernize its network's energy infrastructure. The vast majority of the company's base stations can operate autonomously for up to 10 hours in accordance with the requirements of the NCU order.
In 14 regions of the country, such backup infrastructure covers almost the entire network. In particular, in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions, energy modernization has been fully completed, and base stations can operate autonomously for up to 10 hours.
In total, the lifecell network covers more than 10,000 technological sites across the country, including in frontline and de-occupied areas.
“Ensuring their stable operation in the absence of stationary power supply is one of the company's key priorities during a full-scale war,” the mobile operator notes.
To strengthen the resilience of the network, lifecell has purchased 48,000 lithium batteries (48V, 100Ah) to power telecom equipment since the beginning of the mass power outages. Of these, 40,000 have already been installed, including 20,000 in the first quarter of 2025.
The company's investments in energy modernization are approaching UAH 2 billion. The company is also actively increasing the number of diesel and gasoline generators, which allow maintaining communication during long-term power outages. Compared to 2022, the number of generators involved in the network has increased 75 times.
Let us recall that almost a year ago, the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks (NCT) issued an order according to which mobile operators must ensure the availability of mobile communication services during 10 hours of power outages, instead of 4 hours as was the case before.
«Це час, щоб стояти за країну. Навіть не думайте про свою зарплатню». Інтерв'ю з CEO lifecell Ісметом Язиджи
CEO мобільного оператора lifecell Ісмет Язиджи — з Північного Кіпру. Але за п’ять років життя в Україні він так звик до місця, що асоціює цю країну зі своїм другим домом. Ісмет обожнює Київ. І минулого тижня сюди повернувся. Він був вражений від того, що тут побачив.
