This was stated on his Telegram channel by the head of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev.
«Many people ask about the preferential import of electric cars. I remind you that the VAT exemption is valid until the end of this year and will not be extended. Therefore, if you have the time, opportunity, and inspiration, buy one before the end of the year,» he noted.
The deputy addressed a separate appeal to companies that import electric cars and are actively lobbying for the extension of benefits.
«I want to appeal to the importers of electric cars, who have turned out to be ardent eco-activists. No, the benefit will not be extended. No options. Stop sending messengers and lobbying for this harmful decision. Be decency in a country that collects every penny for the army, and do not raise the issue of exempting a separate category of expensive goods from VAT,» the chairman of the Rada’s finance committee urged.
As dev.ua previously wrote, in the first three months of 2025, Ukraine imported almost three times more electric vehicles than last year.
Of the 20,100 imported electric cars, 4,400 were new, up 12% from last year. Of these, 93% were imported from China.
