Previously, information about a soldier’s injuries, tourniquets applied, medications, and other assistance was recorded manually — often in the field and on paper. Now, this data is entered electronically through a special application.
This means that information about the condition of the injured person will be available to medics at all stages of evacuation — from the point of injury to the stabilization point and hospital.
The key idea of the system is to create a single digital patient route:
Data continuity. Information «accompanies» the soldier in real time and is not lost during transmission between units.
Speed of work for doctors. There is no need to decipher handwriting or rewrite data — all information is already structured.
NATO-compliant. Formats and protocols meet international requirements for tactical medicine.
Fewer errors. Digital format reduces the risk of losing or misinterpreting critical data.
In combat situations, paper records are often lost, damaged, or filled in with errors due to stress and time constraints. This can affect the speed of decision-making by doctors in the subsequent stages of evacuation.
Digitizing this process actually creates a real-time analogue of a military person’s «electronic medical record» — with a history of the injury and the care provided.
«Form 100» remained the standard for documenting first aid in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a long time, but its paper format did not meet modern requirements for speed and data integration.
It is expected that the transition to ePMC will not only improve the quality of medical care, but also accumulate data to analyze the effectiveness of treatment and evacuation.
