In early July, Meta posted an internal ad for "Interviews using artificial intelligence," Business Insider writes.
“Meta is developing a new type of coding interview in which candidates have access to an AI assistant,” the post says. “This is more representative of the developer environment our future employees will work in, and also makes LLM-based fraud less effective.”
The company invites employees to test out a new interview process.
“The questions are still being developed; your input will help shape future interviews at Meta,” the message said.
A company spokesperson explained to Business Insider: "Our priority is to use AI to support engineers on a daily basis, so it makes sense that we would explore the possibility of providing such tools to candidates during interviews."
Meta also plans to start using artificial intelligence in its hiring processes, including to automate tasks such as coding skills testing and question development.
“Like many other companies, we are using artificial intelligence to make hiring more efficient and match candidates to open positions faster,” the spokesperson said. “Humans talking to humans will always be part of the interview process, that remains the same.”
