The Ministry of Defense will allocate UAH 2.5 billion each month for the purchase of UAVs for combat brigades, and unit commanders will be able to use the funds to purchase precisely those types of drones that are most effective in their area.

This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the press service of the ministry reports.

«In December, the Ministry of Defense transferred UAH 2.1 billion directly to the combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the purchase of drones. This made it possible to quickly meet the needs of our brigades and strengthen the diversification of centralized management. We analyzed this experience and decided to scale the initiative,» the ministry reported.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the proposal of the Ministry of Defense.

As dev.ua wrote, according to Rustem Umerov, more than 96% of drones used by the Ukrainian army are of domestic production.

For example, the Ukrainian company Buntar Aerospace has developed the Buntar-1 vertical take-off and landing drone .
