The team behind the video game tracking service WhatTheGame has announced the release of the WTG mobile app. It is currently available only for Android smartphones, but will soon be available on iOS.
WhatTheGame offers a large catalog of games with the ability to filter by platform, genre, series, publisher and developer, and allows you to keep track of video games, track progress, play time and other data. With it, players can create their own lists of games, marking which ones they have already completed, which ones they are just planning to play, and which ones they have put aside for later.
«Essentially, it’s like Goodreads for books or Letterboxd for movies, but for video games», — the developers say.
According to them, such a service is useful for gamers with a large backlog (a list of unplayed games) who «want to keep everything under control», as well as collectors, achievement enthusiasts, and players who seek to «structure their gaming experience and analyze their preferences.»
The WTG mobile application, which natively transfers the service’s functionality to smartphones, is already available for download on Google Play.
