The Ministry of Digital Affairs has revealed what part of the costs of "Diia" are covered by paid services for businesses. Spoiler - self-sufficiency is still far away
Revenue from the sale of Diia’s services currently covers less than 10% of its maintenance costs, said Acting Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov on the air of Forbes Ukraine’s Business Breakfast YouTube project.
Revenue from the sale of Diia’s services currently covers less than 10% of its maintenance costs, said Acting Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov on the air of Forbes Ukraine’s Business Breakfast YouTube project.
According to the official, the position of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine prevents Diya from earning more — the agency considers Diya to be a monopoly service, which is why the state cannot freely expand the list of paid functions.
«The AMCU believes that Diia has a monopoly position, so we cannot monetize services as we would like,» he explained.
At the same time, the acting minister noted, the budget of the state enterprise that supports the application is approximately UAH 1.4–1.6 billion per year. These funds, Bornyakov clarified, do not go exclusively to «Diya»: the structure of the state enterprise includes more than 20 different state IT systems — in particular, for the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
Despite the currently insignificant income, according to Bornyakov, in the future «Diya» should become self-sufficient.
We remind you that paid services in «Diya» have been implemented since June last year. Sharing documents in «Diya» becomes paid for banks and financial institutions, which must pay a one-time fee of UAH 21,617 for connecting to the service, and then UAH 9.8 for each successful document transaction.
As a reminder, Boryakov also announced the transfer of the Brave1 defense cluster from the Ministry of Digital Affairs to the Ministry of Defense.
«We are ready to transfer everything related to defense innovations to them.» Bornyakov announced the transfer of the Brave1 defense cluster from the Ministry of Digital Affairs to the Ministry of Defense
