The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission reported this on Tuesday, noting that these Russian media outlets have been added to the European Union’s sanctions list.
«This means that if a user tries to access a blocked site by entering its address into the Google search bar, the site will not appear in the results,» the Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT quoted the commission as saying.
According to the commission, this is not the first time it has successfully collaborated with Google.
The Lithuanian commission adopted its decision to block websites that publish Russian TV programs subject to EU sanctions on December 18.
Recently, representatives of the social network TikTok claimed that it removes over 90% of content containing Russian disinformation, and a significant part of this content is removed within the first day after publication.
dev.ua also reported that since the start of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, more than 80 Russian bot farms that controlled 3 million accounts on social networks have been shut down .
