The USF statement notes that the Harpies are «a setting for women who seek revenge on the enemy, protect their children, families, and the state». The unit uses unmanned and robotic systems and also involves men, but «the role of pilots who deliver the final blow will be performed exclusively by women.»
«The unit commander is Daria, alias „DSHK“. An active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, since 2022 she has performed combat missions as part of several special forces,» the Unmanned Systems Forces said.
Those wishing to join are promised professional training with 45 days of BZVP and more than 30 days of professional training, as well as coordination in the crew before performing combat missions. It is noted that the «Harpies» will use FPV helicopters, heavy bombers, «wing» type strike UAVs, as well as ground robotic complexes.
Active servicemen or reservists can be transferred to the unit. The USF assured that they guarantee entry into the «Harpies» for the chosen position.
Recall that in December last year, the Unmanned Systems Forces announced the opening of a recruiting center in Kyiv and provided details of its work.
In March 2025, USF announced the development of its IT division and published a number of vacancies for IT professionals.
