Videos of the Nubbin gadget, which seems to be taken from episodes of "Black Mirror", have gone viral on the Internet. Is this "brain chip that controls memory" real?

According to numerous videos circulating on social media, the Nubbin chip, created by TCKR Systems, allows users to «enter virtual consciousness» and relive their dreams or immerse themselves in memories from their lives. The commercial is reminiscent of footage from the TV series «Black Mirror,» which has been repeatedly called prophetic for its realistic parallels about the absorption of humanity by technology and its harsh consequences. But does such a gadget actually exist?

On March 10, a YouTube channel for TCKR Systems was created. It had no description, just a link to the company’s website, which, according to the description, «has always been at the forefront of neural research and simulated existence. For decades, it has been pushing the boundaries of virtual consciousness, from gaming innovation to nostalgic immersion and implantable technologies.»

On April 3, several videos appeared on the channel titled «This is Nubbin,» in which the company supposedly presented a new gadget.

Previously, a company called TCKR Systems was mentioned in episodes of the British science fiction series Black Mirror, each episode of which illustrates a future in which technology rules the world. And their endings are not positive.

Also, about a week ago, the official TCKR Systems company page appeared on Linkedin, where posts about upcoming «updates, retrospectives, and official announcements on the latest and greatest innovations» are periodically published .

Videos are already circulating online where influencers and other users supposedly unbox the gadget and share their impressions of its impact.

However, the main question is: «Is Nubbin technology real?» In short, no. TCKR Systems and the gadget itself are completely fictional, and people are sent fictitious devices. And if you put it on in real life, absolutely nothing will happen, except that the prop will be firmly glued to your temple.

As one user noted in the comments under the video, «TCKR Systems» is a name that was previously used in an episode of the series, and the promotional phrases in the video even use the phrases «into forgotten memories,» «explore endless galaxies,» «even outer space,» and «it’s better here,» which proclaim a virtual escape from reality and the theme of brain hacking.

«This is almost certainly a teaser campaign for a new sci-fi show, maybe a new season of Black Mirror, a spin-off, or something very similar,» the user suggests.

In fact, Netflix decided to use this original way to draw attention to the seventh season of Black Mirror, the episodes of which have been broadcast since April 10. And this move really misled many fans.
