«A stick with an SOS button and a GPS tracker is a unique development of students of the Stick-Friend mini-company of the Svalyavsky Vocational College. Such a device will help save more than one life when there is no one nearby to help, when there is no signal or insufficient battery charge on the phone,» said the head of the Transcarpathian OVA, Myroslav Biletsky.

This is such an inspiring initiative—students from the Svalyava Vocational College have developed an SOS stick equipped with a GPS tracker to signal your location when there's no mobile coverage or your phone is out of battery. It’s heartening to see technology being used for real-world safety, and the fact that their project won JA Company of the Year 2025 and made it to the international Gen-E festival in Athens makes it even more impressive.
