The Federation of Military-Technological Sports of Ukraine held its first championship in five different disciplines. In the future, the organizers aim to create leagues based on the Formula 1 model.
The championship was held over two days, August 16-17, the Federation reported. About 100 athletes took part, competing in the following disciplines:
FPV drone racing;
light and heavy airdrop;
performing missions of ground robotic complexes (GRC);
laser tag.
Also, as part of the championship, an exhibition of leading Ukrainian technologies and drone manufacturers was held.
«Our goal is to hold the International Technological Sports Competition this year and invite partner countries to it. In the future, we plan to create leagues and follow the Formula 1 model, when both pilots and technologies compete, because we also have pilots and technologies competing», — Artur Bulygin, president of the Technological Sports Federation of Ukraine, told Military.
The winners of the FPV drone competition were:
Azazel (SkyFall) — 20.91 sec.
Otamanchikk (#ChukaTeam) — 21.12 seconds.
Panda (#ChukaTeam) — 21.83 seconds.
The best in the NRC missions were:
Mining: «Kuzma», «Jeweler», «Danger».
Logistics: «Kaiser», «Amaro», «L200».
The Federation wants to hold competitions in four domains — on water, on land, in the air, and in cyberspace. However, the rules for the aquatic drone championship are still being developed.
The main goal of the Federation of Military-Technological Sports is to increase the defense capability of Ukraine, popularize military-technological sports, and train current and potential employees of law enforcement agencies in the use of technological means of combat.
Previously, the Federation of Military-Technological Sports of Ukraine and SET University signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation aimed at developing cybersecurity through educational programs, CTF (Capture The Flag) competitions, and preparing Ukrainian athletes to participate in international tournaments.
