According to Forbes, co-owners of the IT company SoftServe Taras Kytsmey, Yaroslav Lyubinets, and Oleg Denys, together with co-owner of the Mukko dairy farm Mykola Kmit, purchased the Plai ski resort in the Lviv region.
Kmit’s share, according to his own words, is 20%, while Kytsmey refused to name his share and the shares of other partners. The partners have owned the new asset since September 2024.
According to its website, the Plai complex has two chairlifts and a tow lift, and the length of the ski slopes is 5 km.
In addition, the resort has three hotels, a motel and separate cottages for accommodation. In particular, «Plai» has about 160 rooms for 300 people, not including cottages. The infrastructure includes five restaurants, a spa center, two summer swimming pools, a conference complex, an indoor sports and entertainment complex, a ski school and a bowling alley. A museum and a church also operate on the territory of the complex.
The publication writes that Kmit and Kytsmey do not name the amount of the deal, citing confidentiality, but according to Forbes Ukraine estimates, the resort could cost $10-15 million.
During the holiday period, accommodation in the «Play» complex costs from 1200 UAH to 9800 UAH per day, a ski pass for one full day is 1450 UAH.
«We are continuing our movement in the hotel and restaurant direction,» comments Taras Kytsmey, who, together with Kmit, already owns the medical and hotel complex «Svyaty Sharbel» in Morshyn. The partners also had the restaurant «Syrny» in Lviv, and Kytsmey is also a co-owner of «Restaurant Bachevsky» in Lviv and Warsaw and the «Celentano Pizza» chain.
According to Taras Kytsmey, the task for this season is to launch alpine skiing, and later to make family vacations here year-round and launch wellness programs.
SoftServe co-founder Taras Kytsmey: «When IT specialists go to teach, it’s a win-win. Education is a long-term game. The war will end, and the IT industry will fly up like a rocket.»
