PlayCity blocks seven more Instagram accounts for illegal casino advertising

The state-owned platform PlayCity continues to block Instagram accounts that systematically advertised online casinos in violation of Ukrainian law. This time, millionaire blogger Simbochka was blocked.
"These pages systematically placed gambling advertisements in Stories, demonstrating 'easy wins' and adding active links. Such actions are a direct violation of the law," PlayCity said in a statement .
When you go to Simbochka's Instagram account, a message appears: "Unfortunately, this page is unavailable. The link you followed may be broken or the page may have been deleted."
Simbochka's followers are trying to find new ways to follow the blogger, but so far their searches have led to fake accounts.
Previously, dev.ua asked the Ministry of Digital Affairs for an explanation regarding the blocking of accounts. According to representatives of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, PlayCity cooperates with Meta on issues of compliance with the rules for advertising gambling and lotteries on the company's platforms. It was within the framework of this cooperation that the accounts were discovered and blocked.
Gennady Novikov, head of PlayCity, a body that controls activities in the field of gambling, online casinos and lotteries, publicly explained which online media can start advertising casinos again.
However, Playcity suspended and closed the latest proceedings regarding casino advertising violations due to lack of evidence. Thus, the proceedings against the Telegram channel "Trukha" were closed "due to the lack of sufficient evidence confirming the commission of violations by these business entities."
The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, reminded the state agency Playcity on the channel that the deadline established by law for putting into operation the state online monitoring system for the gambling market expires on September 30.
