Anonymous sources report that health & fitness company Welltech is likely laying off about a third of its 750 employees.
«They are laying off people in all departments and countries, mostly in product and development. Officially, the reason is reorganization and a change in focus (the CEO and other C-level changed two months ago)», says a message in the Telegram channel «Overheard in IT.»
According to an anonymous source, the cuts are taking place in all locations where Welltech operates. The company has five offices in Cyprus, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, and the UK. The insider added that as a severance package, employees are being paid two to three salaries, and some are being allowed to keep their laptops. In this case, employees have to work another month.
Welltech develops fitness apps Muscle Booster, Yoga-Go, and WalkFit. The company’s LinkedIn page has over 800 people connected to it, including 266 from Ukraine.
Last year, Welltech already laid off about 10% of its employees. At that time, up to 80 specialists in Ukraine, Poland, Spain, and Cyprus were laid off. At the same time, more than 40 specialists were allowed to continue working with the company.
Welltech then provided the laid-off specialists with three months of severance pay or three months of paid leave. The company also allowed them to keep their laptops for personal use and extended their health insurance for another three months.
