Liga.net reminds that under the terms of this program, individuals — owners of fuel generators — were able to power base stations of mobile operators for money.
For this, fuel cost compensation was offered in the amount of UAH 172 per hour of operation for diesel generators and UAH 287 per hour of operation for gasoline generators.
As Vodafone stated, commenting on the results of this initiative, «there are not many cases with individuals, because not just any generator is suitable for powering base stations.»
Thus, under the terms of the program, mobile operators could be provided with generators with a capacity of at least 7.2 kW.
Kyivstar announced that they are attracting additional generators to the business under the Generator as a Service model, and the operator cooperates with over 200 business partners on this principle.
Meanwhile, Kyivstar is currently not cooperating with individuals within the framework of the «Communication Generator» initiative.
«At the start of the project, the team received up to 300 applications from interested generator owners, which were properly processed. However, due to low further activity, we decided not to continue the initiative,» Kyivstar noted.
It is worth recalling that, according to the terms of the «Communication Generator» program, the owners of the generators had to maintain and refuel them themselves while working at the base station, and the operators had to provide only their technical connection.
As we wrote, in November last year, the Ministry of Digital Affairs announced the «Communication Generator» program, under which citizens and businesses can power operators' base stations with their generators for a certain fee.
