«The relevant ministry is forming, detailing, and working on this program. It should launch on December 1 and will be in effect for 4 months, when demand for [Ukrzaliznytsia’s services] is low. During such periods, we have the opportunity to provide additional tickets to citizens», Svyrydenko said.
She noted that currently the cost of passenger transportation in Ukraine is higher than the cost of a ticket. Previously, the gap was compensated by the cost of freight transportation of goods, but this direction decreased due to the war.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about a new package of «winter support» for citizens. This time, it will include special «transport support» UZ-3000.
«Three thousand kilometers, so that everyone can choose railway routes within Ukraine for free: Lviv — Kyiv, Kyiv — Dnipro, any others. Three thousand kilometers for free», Zelenskyy said.
According to Svyrydenko, the UZ-3000 program is not compensated by budget funds allocated to Ukrzaliznytsia.
Recall that earlier, Ukrainians began receiving payments under the «National Cashback with a delay» program. Sources of the publication «Ekonomichna Pravda» in the government reported that this was due to the end of the money allocated for the program.
