«This is the next logical step after the decision to provide payment services to refugees from Ukraine following the full-scale Russian invasion two years ago», — Revolut said in a press release.
The company notes that many Ukrainians have become forced refugees. Now, the application interface is fully available in Ukrainian; this expansion of available localizations is explained by the desire to «provide a high-quality user experience for customers throughout Europe».
Revolut notes that they have helped transfer more than 1 billion euros to Ukraine since 2022. The list of the most active senders was headed by such countries as Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands. Currently, more than 700,000 Ukrainians in Great Britain and throughout the European Economic Area use Revolut services — the largest number of users are in Poland (27%), Germany (17%) and Great Britain (6%).
«Our position on helping Ukraine after a full-scale invasion remains unchanged. First, we reached out to refugees by providing the opportunity to use payment services abroad without any obstacles. The next step towards the Ukrainian community is the appearance of the Ukrainian language in the application. We strive to provide comfort and support to Ukrainian Revolut users throughout Europe, while offering quality financial services,» said Vlad Yatsenko, founder and CTO of Revolut.
He added that although Revolut is currently not available in Ukraine, the company urges all Ukrainians to download the application and join the waiting list to be notified as soon as access opens.
We will remind that earlier it became known about the intention of Revolut to release its own stablecoin. Thus, the London fintech company with Ukrainian roots wants to expand its activities in the crypto industry.
