Revolut plans to place 40% of its global staff in India by 2026
European fintech company Revolut, co-founded by Ukrainian Vlad Yatsenko, plans to concentrate about 40% of its global staff in India by the end of 2026, expanding its Indian center of global competence.
European fintech company Revolut, co-founded by Ukrainian Vlad Yatsenko, plans to concentrate about 40% of its global staff in India by the end of 2026, expanding its Indian center of global competence.
Revolut continues to invest £500 million ($669.8 million) in its India business and Global Competence Center (GCC) in 2025. The company said it will create 1,600 new jobs in its India hub by the end of 2026, taking its total workforce in the country to 5,500, Reuters reports .
The new roles will be spread across product development, support functions and financial operations, including payment processing and fraud investigations. Revolut currently employs 12,000 people worldwide.
Indian global competence centers, previously considered merely hubs for low-cost outsourcing, are now responsible for operations, finance, and research and development for their parent corporations.
Jonathan Binney, Revolut's head of talent acquisition, called India one of the "deepest and most dynamic talent markets in the world."
“Our technology hub in India is key to our global scale… The technical level, ambition and skill we see here make India a natural long-term base for Revolut,” Biny said.
However, the GCC expansion is separate from Revolut's operations directly in the Indian market .
Revolut India CEO Parama Chatterjee told Reuters that about a third of the company's processes are now carried out from India, including monitoring routine transactions and AI-powered alerts.
“Solutions implemented using the Indian technology stack, such as video KYC (know your customer) have been enriched by our GCC experience to share knowledge with foreign units. This allows us to implement similar methods in other markets for stricter controls during customer onboarding,” Chatterjee noted.
In India, the company has permission to issue prepaid payment instruments and plans to launch its product in the next quarter, the company said in a statement.
