On the night of June 2, another massive attack on the capital city damaged the UNIT.Home residential complex, located in the UNIT.City innovation park. Residential buildings and an adjacent alley in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv were destroyed.
Damage was recorded to the facades and glazing of the buildings of the complex. Information about the victims directly on the territory of UNIT.City is currently being clarified.
«We have not had an easy night today — our residential complex and the street in general have been badly damaged, many people have been injured and some have died», — said Roman Lansky, founder of Strimco.
What is UNIT.City and the UNIT.Home residential complex?
UNIT.City is Ukraine’s first innovation park, opened in 2017 on the site of the former Kyiv Motorcycle Plant. It is a key hub and platform for the development of the Ukrainian technology ecosystem. The park is home to offices, co-working spaces, and research labs of over 100 resident companies, including Bolt, Helsi, DTEK, Nova Pay, Snap, and a number of Ukrainian IT startups.
The UNIT.Home residential complex is an integral part of this space, covering an area of 11.7 hectares. The project was developed according to the «city within a city» concept and is designed for 9 blocks with over 2,400 apartments. In addition to housing, it is planned to build its own social infrastructure: a modern school, kindergartens, a medical facility and a fitness center. According to the general development plan, UNIT.City should become a unique space for living and working for over 30,000 specialists. The second stage of the park expansion was planned to be completed by 2025.
