Nova Digital’s cybersecurity manager, Oleh Polihenko, spoke at Nova Summit 2026 about how many cyberattacks Nova Poshta has suffered over the past two years and what the average ransom is that hackers demand from Ukrainian companies.
«Every month, a huge number of cyberattacks are carried out: attempts to compromise infrastructure, attempts to stop logistics, attempts to bribe, find insiders, lure something, stop our work in any way», the DOU edition quotes the head of the IT department of Nova Poshta as saying.
Polihenko noted that over the past two years, Nova Digital specialists have repelled over a million cyberattacks. He said that when hackers gain access, they manage to completely wipe out the infrastructure, erase all data, and demand a ransom for its return. The average amount is over $2 million, and restoring the infrastructure of the affected company can take up to a month.
Oleh Polihenko also drew attention to the lack of cybersecurity specialists and the complexity of building protection systems. According to his estimate, the world lacks about 1 million cybersecurity specialists.
Earlier, the head of the State Service for Special Communications, Oleksandr Potiy, stated about the shortage of professional personnel who «take care of information protection and cyber defense in Ukraine.» He said that the country may lack about 100,000 specialists.
Recall that in 2025, the head of Nova Digital announced that the company plans to actively implement AI technologies into its products. To this end, Nova Digital has created an artificial intelligence department.
