A group of Ukrainian IT professionals has released a useful application that helps interpret dreams. dev.ua caught up with the app’s developers, Oleksandr Plekhov and Nazar Babiy, and found out how Snovyda works.
A group of Ukrainian IT professionals has released a useful application that helps interpret dreams. dev.ua caught up with the app’s developers, Oleksandr Plekhov and Nazar Babiy, and found out how Snovyda works.
The idea to create an application for interpreting dreams did not come about instantly. It was the result of a team brainstorming session, where each participant contributed their part during one hackathon. «As the technical manager of the project, I defined the main technological framework: a mobile platform, the use of AI, as well as two key functions that were to become the basis of our product — voice recognition and text interpretation. We wanted the application to be not only functional, but also as simple and intuitive as possible for the user. After all, no one likes complex programs,» said Oleksandr.
While discussing various ideas that met the technical criteria, the developers considered many options. But the real breakthrough was the story of team member Kateryna Babiy. She shared a story about her grandmother, who often interpreted dreams. «Kateryna told how these interpretations helped her family better understand themselves and life situations. This story resonated with each of us,» adds Oleksandr.
«We realized that dreams are not just nighttime images, but a unique window into our subconscious. The idea of creating a tool that would help people decipher these „messages“ and use them for self-knowledge seemed not only technically interesting, but also socially significant. Then we unanimously decided that this was exactly the direction we were looking for,» says Naza. Thus was born Snovyda — not just an application, but a bridge between the conscious and subconscious, created to help people.
The development team consists of seven Ukrainians. Among them: Oleksandr Plekhov is Team Lead and lead developer of Snovyda. «I was the one who gathered the team for a brainstorming session and determined what technologies we would use. My experience as a Senior Android developer allowed us to bring all the ideas to life and create a truly useful application,» he says.
Kateryna Babiy was responsible for the integration of artificial intelligence, as well as for building the application architecture. Her 14 years of experience as a full-stack developer helped us combine different technologies in such a way that the user received the most simple and intuitive experience.
Roman Fedytsky is an expert with over ten years of experience in frontend. At Snovyda, he is responsible for architecture, high-load scaling, and user data security.
Sviatoslav Teslyak is a product designer with over 8 years of experience, working with both technically complex systems and creative projects where the emotional user experience plays an important role. At Snovyda, he is responsible for product design and user experience, combining functionality with visual appeal.
Oleg Polishchuk is an experienced specialist with over 12 years of experience and co-founder of several startups. At Snovyda, he manages the payment system, integration with third-party services, key and certificate generation, Google Play setup, security, infrastructure, and tax and legal documents.
Victoria Kozyk is a true design force in the team. She sees beauty where others only notice details, and transforms them into stylish, modern, and emotionally engaging visual concepts.
Nazar Babiy — was responsible for integrating the payment system and third-party services, which made it possible to monetize the product through a subscription model. He also handled testing and quality control, which allowed the team to quickly fix bugs and maintain the stability of the application. His contribution allowed Snovyda to not only look like an interesting experiment, but also become a viable product with a clear business model.
At the initial stage, the startups did not need significant investments, as all development — from prototype creation to finished application — was carried out by the team itself. «This allowed us to fully control the process and focus on quality,» says Nazar.
At this stage, he says, the team will invest its own funds in advertising and marketing to attract the first users. «In the future, we expect investments that will allow us to significantly expand the functionality of the application and launch more aggressive marketing campaigns to accelerate our scaling,» adds Oleksandr.

» Snovyda is not just an entertainment app, but a tool for self-discovery,» Nazar convinces.

Our audience is people interested in self-development, psychology, and finding answers within themselves. These can be both young people searching for themselves and adults seeking to find harmony and better understand their emotions. «Snovyda is the perfect assistant for anyone who believes that the keys to a happy life lie within ourselves,» says Oleksandr.
Currently, the Snovyda app is available exclusively for the Android mobile platform. We are focused on continuously improving the user experience, but we plan to expand availability to other platforms in the future.
The developers now have their first users in the US and Canada. At this stage, they are focused on gathering their feedback, which is critical for further improving the product and preparing for full scale.
Snovyda operates on a subscription model, offering users continuous access to advanced functionality and deep dream analysis. «To effectively manage subscriptions and monetize the app, we integrated the RevenueCat platform. This allows us to provide transparency, automate payments, and analyze business metrics. In addition, we use OneSignal for push notifications, which helps retain users and maintain their engagement,» says Nazar.

The team is currently focused on organic growth and continuous product improvement to prove its value. «However, we are open to collaboration and are ready to consider strategic investments that will help us accelerate development, expand the team, and enter new markets faster,» says Oleksandr.
