In December 2024, Kyivstar submitted an application to the Antimonopoly Committee (AMCU) to acquire Uklon. According to the assessment of the analytical department of Forbes Ukraine, the current price of the company could be $40-80 million. However, it was only on the second attempt that it received permission from the AMCU - on February 6.
As Scroll.media reports , Kyivstar and Uklon have reached an agreement on a price of over $100 million. The agreement itself will be signed by the end of March 2025.
After lengthy negotiations, the valuation was revised: the Uklon team managed to explain that the company's business was worth more, the source said.
"Well done Uklon for being able to defend such a price. This is a great business, a market leader, with development prospects. When I saw estimates of $50-$70-$80 million, I wondered why they were so low," shared one of the investment banks, who wished to remain anonymous.
The closing of the deal will not affect the service structure or management changes.
