The Digital 2025: Ukraine report from DataReportal provides a detailed analysis of Ukraine's digital environment in early 2025. It covers data on the population, use of the Internet, social networks, and mobile technologies in the country.
According to the report , at the beginning of 2025, Ukraine demonstrates a significant level of digitalization. The country's population was 38.3 million people, which is 2.2% more than last year. 70.4% of people live in urban areas (for comparison, the global level of urbanization is 82.7%), and 29.6% live in rural areas. Women make up 53.5% of the population, men - 46.5%.
31.5 million Ukrainians use the Internet, which corresponds to 82.4% of the population. The number of social media users has reached 21.6 million, which is 56.4% of the total population.
Mobile connections in Ukraine exceed the population. At the beginning of 2025, there were 56.4 million active mobile connections, which is 147% of the total number of residents. This is explained by the fact that many people use more than one mobile connection, for example, separately for personal and work needs. The total number of mobile connections decreased by 607 thousand (-1.1%) compared to the previous year.
Overall, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram remain the most influential platforms in Ukraine, while LinkedIn continues to grow and X maintains a relatively small audience.
YouTube has 21.6 million users, which is 56.4% of the population and 68.5% of all Internet users in the country. At the same time, 53.4% of the audience is female, 46.6% is male.
Facebook had 13.9 million users, making it one of the most popular platforms in Ukraine.
Instagram has 12.0 million users, behind YouTube and Facebook, but still holding a significant audience.
TikTok showed an impressive figure of 17.0 million.
LinkedIn reached 5.8 million members, and its advertising audience grew by 13.7% (+700 thousand) over the year, including 3.6% (+200 thousand) in the last quarter alone.
X (Twitter) has 1.61 million users, which is only 4.2% of the population of Ukraine, making it the least popular platform among the major social networks.
As for mobile traffic among Ukrainians' mobile devices, Android devices became the dominant devices — 67.29%, while iOS's share was 32.99%.
The desktop traffic ranking is as follows: Chrome — 58.02%, Edge — 15.01%, Safari — 10.27%, Opera — 6.84%, Firefox — 3.74%.
Unfortunately, 4.53% of Ukrainians use the Russian Yandex Browser and 11.27% of search queries are made through the search engine of the terrorist country.
TikTok videos are disrupting mobilization in Ukraine. But our people found an approach to the Polish team of the social network. And now some videos are being deleted. How?
