As noted in the fund's press release, the size of the investment in each team remains within the standard average Angel One check. The developers plan to use the funds raised to improve technology, expand production, and enter new markets.
Managing partner of the fund Ivan Petrenko explains the choice of projects by the general market trend towards automation.
“Today, the winners are not necessarily those who create the best products, but those who eliminate entire roles, constraints and delays. AiSDR eliminates the need for a sales team, DoD Solution reduces reliance on GPS and communications, and Deftak reduces the time between detection and defeat. Although these are different markets, they all follow the same logic,” he notes.
In the civil sector, AiSDR, a startup that has received investment, is an artificial intelligence platform that fully automates the lead generation process: from finding potential customers and analyzing them to sending personalized messages and booking meetings. The company will use the funds raised to accelerate product development.
In the defense technology sector, the fund supported the Estonian-Ukrainian startup DoD Solution, which is developing the AURA autonomous platform for drones. The technology, which includes its own single-board computers and an AI stack for navigation, allows drones to operate without GPS and communication in conditions of active electronic warfare. The team plans to use the funds to develop the platform, create new hardware, and enter international markets.
Another defense-tech project in the fund’s portfolio is the Ukrainian startup Deftak. The team is developing ammunition that can self-target after being dropped using a camera, adjusting the trajectory of the fall. This solution allows you to turn ordinary reconnaissance drones into strike UAVs. The investment will go towards scaling up production.
Representatives of Angel One Fund met with the developers of defense solutions DoD Solution and Deftak during one of the events of the Brave1 platform. Both startups are residents of this cluster, which unites participants of the Ukrainian defense-tech ecosystem and promotes the development of innovations for the defense forces.
