Igor Malovany, a senior iOS and macOS engineer, has released his own application BackTrack — a video or audio recorder that works continuously. And right when it matters, it will save the moment.
The idea, voiced by an IT professional on LinkedIn, is simple: the application constantly records video or audio in the background.
When a moment worth saving occurs, you tap «Cut» on your phone or Apple Watch, say «Cut» out loud, or clap your hands. A pre-defined length of time is saved instantly. There’s no need to start anything beforehand.
Igor says that the idea came from his own pain: while improvising on the piano, good melodies would disappear because there was nothing to capture them at the right moment. The second case is squash with friends, where the best moments always remained unrecorded. And the third, completely different one is a car video recorder.
The author himself admits that he doesn’t fully understand positioning yet: music, sports, and cars are three very different audiences. The next steps he announced are to collect a portfolio of his applications and find people for ASO and promotion.
